Fun Times at Great Wolf Lodge

As a birthday gift we took the family to Great Wolf Lodge here in Colorado Springs, a stay-cation. I was so happy to find a great deal last month and we were able to book a couple of nights for just $80 a night! We’ve always wanted to go and I’m so happy it worked out as a birthday gift!

We checked in after we picked the kids up from school, oh yeah, we played hooky for the next two days! So we checked in and got our swimsuits on and hit the water park immediately!

The main attraction was the wave pool! I literally had to pry them away so that they could play in other areas…lol! At one moment I was taking them over to the heated area of the water park and the siren for the waves came on and the birthday girl just jetted back over to the wave pool without a second thought. She eventually met up with us.

My husband experienced the Howlin’ Tornado ride with the kids, they tried to convince me to do it, but it was a definite no go for me. I stuck with the tame areas, places where the baby was aloud..haha!

We also took advantage of the non water themed activities they offered like story time, the arcade, and the night time dance party.

Overall we had an awesome time and we’ve been wearing our wolf ears daily, well the birthday girl has! I’d definitely love to go back especially when the baby is older. Fun times, fun times!!

Project 366: Day 24 - Sunday's Adventure

The family decided at the last minute to go to the Paint Mines Interpretive Park. When we got there the temp seemed to have dropped a bit, so we were pretty much freezing as soon as we got out of the car. We had to walk a mile and a half to get to any rock formation and that's as far as we went on this trip, we couldn't handle the cold. We didn't get a chance to see the actual painted mines, but the best thing about it, is that we made the best of it. So we'll plan better for round two.
