Day 29/365 When it's almost 60° outside in January, you not only make the kids #getoutdoors, but you get your butt out there too!

I was catching up to the kid and there was a trailer on the side of the road and I decided to use it to frame my son. I wanted to edit this photo in color, but my edits were not turning out the way I envisioned so my go to was a b&w edit.

Day 30/365 She got an extra pep in her step after Ballet class today!

Bridges can be fun to photograph. She had fun running up and down and I made sure to get ahead of her to capture her in motion. My shutter speed was fast because it was a sunny day, but also because I wanted to capture and freeze her movement without motion blur.

Day 31/365 Gotcha! Another game of photo tag!
This year I'm wanting to post more photos of this kid because he's usually at school so I don't get as many of his cute face in my feed!

I used my wide angle lens for this image and was able to include a lot in the scene including myself. Shooting from above your subject can add a different and fun perspective.

I love the zoo when it's practically empty, kind of peaceful. This was a perfect photo op, perfect circular framing, I knew I had to get a photo of her although she wasn't as interested as I was.

Day 33/365 It was pretty frosty today A few days of nice weather and then we get a surprising snow day. It was beautiful, frost everywhere. The color of her jacket and hat really popped against the desaturated tones of the background.

Day 34/365 My Wild Thing
She's always tolerating my adventures I take her on, even in the freezing cold!

We went looking for the beautiful frosted trees, but the area we ended up didn't have as much frost as I'd expected. I decided to take a portrait before we left because it was still a pretty backdrop. I used a longer lens, 100mm f2, to compress the background so that it was less distracting.

I am working on an editing video of this image that I hope to get up this week. The image was underexposed a little and kind of gray. So I was able to make her stand out and bring the colors back.

Day 35/365 We always leave the playground with a few bits and pieces in our shoes

Another nice day after snow so we headed to the neighborhood playground. A lot of running and hiding, so of course we collected gravel in our shoes and had to empty them out before we left.

With this image there are a lot of shadows and colors. Images like this I usually scrap because I used to think dark shadows and harsh sun was not a great look in a photo, but I have come to embrace shooting in harsh daylight. I now see the shadows as a way to add depth and interest to an image. i also decided for this image to make those colors pop because this is a picture of childhood and kids love colorful things.
